I'm a seminary dropout—and proud of it. Around 2017-2018, I started hearing "the call"—that spiritual calling that keeps nuns and priestesses awake at night. I served as a lay leader in Unitarian Universalist congregations before attending Seattle University's School of Theology and Ministry (2019-2021), initially thinking I was meant to earn my Master of Divinity and become a parish minister. But by 2021, it became clear my ministry would take a different form. When Seattle U closed their theology program, I made the difficult but right decision to step away—first to focus on healing, then to discover my authentic path. This choice reflected the wisdom of listening to inner guidance rather than forcing myself into a predetermined mold. Those seminary years weren't lost. They profoundly inform my current work as an intuitive coach, especially in creating rituals and ceremonies. The collaborative projects I developed with fellow students through the Religica Theolab and CEIC became part of my broader spiritual mission, even though they didn't lead where I initially expected. I'm sharing this work with you because it demonstrates how all paths—even the unexpected turns—can become valuable parts of our larger purpose and service to others. I’m grateful for those experiences and am sharing some of that work below.

December 27, 2023 SpeakingThis is an edited recording of a virtual event hosted by Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church in Kirkland, WA on May 24, 2020, during the early days of COVID. Facilitated by Trish Brownlee, this multi-generational gathering explored the role of arts in both memorializing war and resisting violence. The event weaves together veteran spoken word, artwork, and music with Trish's personal reflections on Sarah Sentilles' powerful book "Draw Your Weapons." What emerges is part virtual service, part conversation, part art exhibit and concert—a rich tapestry of voices spanning generations and communities. Presented by Trish Brownlee, a veteran and member of the Northlake community, alongside fellow veteran artists and musicians, this recording captures a unique moment of connection and creative resistance during a time of global uncertainty.
